Lately my main focus has been developing my vocabulary and lyrical palette. Here are some poems I've written in the past 3 months:
Sonnet 1 By Angela Fenton
All that lies within each cell are the small, Unnoticed workings of my inner brain.
The unknown. With the meaning of it all. That unidentifiable chaos train.
Orchestrating each perception, react
Ion, memory, desire, ev’ry dream. Forcing me to find distraction. In fact, Pushing me down that denial filled stream.
These questions asked about who we are,
Most difficult to answer from the fear
Of reaching the end destination far
From proof that we were ever really here.
We are all mortal, temporary specs Of time in a universe full of clocks.
Tick Tock By Angela Fenton As moments reaching out can suck you in, And minutes slowing down can drown you out, Your heart remains in tact- beating. Always. It's easy running from yourself until Men in dark coats are knocking at your door And tearing it down. Letting through the dark Ness, forcing faceless demons to start the Clock. Tick tock. Tick tock. Tick Tock.
Bloodlines by Angela Fenton Exhaust your heart and angels cry, “You Fool!”
Of course foul truth til now has made you sick.
You try and run from where you’ve come. No luck; For shame belongs in veins stuffed in your skin.”
With creaking doors you lie awake, hoping The crimes of fate for all you loved will spoil So guilt may be forgotten. Burdens stay- Immortal. Tomorrow comes again. But It’s you who feels the pain of what they’ve done.
Their souls remain in your blood beneath their sins.
I am still a beginner in the world of poetry, but I'm excited to see what comes from my exploration. Stay tuned!
Thanks for reading, xoxo Ang
